#MarketRebound A clear message from Washington to Beijing:
No free concessions!
In a new development regarding the trade dispute between the U.S. and China, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pientka sent a direct message to Beijing, stating that Washington will not unilaterally reduce tariffs without a clear counterpart in the negotiations.
Pientka's statement aimed to clarify matters, at a time when China has begun to show readiness to engage in negotiations, hoping to ease the trade tensions that have strained the global economy.
But does this mean the trade issue is entering a new phase of tug-of-war?
It seems the answer is "yes". While Beijing shows flexibility, Washington insists that any reduction in tariffs must be met with real concessions from the Chinese side, especially in areas such as intellectual property rights protection and government support for Chinese companies.
Markets are awaiting clearer signals, but current indicators suggest that the confrontation is not over yet, and may enter a new, more complex chapter.
