Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) acquired 6,556 BTC for $555.8M at an average price of $84,785. The company's total reserves now amount to 538,200 BTC — this is over 2.5% of the total Bitcoin supply!
The purchase was financed through a stock issuance. Saylor confirmed that the company will continue to accumulate BTC despite the volatility. His goal is $42 billion in BTC assets by 2027.
The price of Bitcoin reacted by rising to $89,200.
