#EthereumFuture Charles Hoskinson, Cardano founder and Ethereum co-founder, has predicted that Ethereum may not survive the next 10 to 15 years. He points to three core flaws: Ethereum’s accounting model, its virtual machine, and its consensus mechanism. Hoskinson argues these technical choices make it hard for Ethereum to evolve and scale, and he’s critical of the network’s growing reliance on Layer 2 solutions, which he says pull value away from the main chain rather than fixing its scalability issues. He also highlights Ethereum’s weak on-chain governance, warning that internal divisions could worsen and make it hard for Vitalik Buterin to keep the community united. Ultimately, Hoskinson believes Ethereum could be overtaken by competitors like Bitcoin DeFi, and likens its future to tech giants like Myspace and BlackBerry that failed to adapt and lost relevance.
