To conclude, the true value of Web3 games is not in solving the 'problems' of Web2, but in providing a new toy for specific groups (tech geeks, speculators). However, to say it's the future of the gaming industry, it currently resembles an unfulfilled bet.
As a blockchain practitioner for 8 years and a gaming enthusiast for 25 years, I completely fail to understand the necessity of Web3 blockchain games from my perspective.
The pain points of Web2 that it claims to solve are not serious enough to require blockchain for 'redemption', and the advantages claimed by Web3 (ownership, governance) are either hollow or overly exaggerated niche demands in reality. I present the essence of the problem as 'game assets are useless without leaving' and 'governance is nonsense': there is a significant gap between the idealized narrative of Web3 blockchain games and their actual implementation.

Web3 blockchain games mainly apply blockchain technology to aspects such as asset management, trading, and ownership verification in games. Blockchain, as a decentralized technology platform, provides a secure, transparent, and trustworthy infrastructure for games. Specifically, this combination is reflected in the following aspects:
Digitalization of assets and ownership: Blockchain transforms virtual assets in games (such as items, characters, currency, etc.) into verifiable digital assets through smart contracts and non-fungible token (NFT) technology. Players can truly own these assets and record their ownership on the blockchain.
