#USChinaTensions US-CHINA TRADE WAR MAY HAVE NEW DEVELOPMENTS BEYOND MEANINGLESS NUMBERS

China will not engage in a "meaningless numbers game" with the U.S. after some export items from here face cumulative tariffs of up to 245%.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce believes this move has "blatantly exposed the U.S. turning tariffs into tools, weapons in an unreasonable manner". The country will not fear a prolonged trade conflict; the U.S. needs to proceed on the basis of mutual respect and equality.

Washington has stated that Trump is willing to make a trade deal, but China must be the first to act, emphasizing that "China needs U.S. money".
