#USChinaTensions
Tensions between the United States and China have escalated sharply in April 2025, driven by a series of aggressive tariff hikes and retaliatory measures that are disrupting global trade and diplomatic relations.
On April 2, President Donald Trump imposed sweeping tariffs on nearly all U.S. trading partners, with particularly steep increases targeting China. Chinese exports now face tariffs as high as 145%, prompting Beijing to respond with 125% tariffs on American goods. China has also warned other countries, including Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, against forming trade deals with the U.S. that could harm Chinese interests, threatening reciprocal action if its interests are compromised .
