The core reason I don't often use technical analysis is that it primarily relies on historical data to predict the future. However, I do not deny the significance of quantitative technical analysis, as the large volume and many fans often make it seem reasonable.
If I must engage in technical analysis, I still recommend long-term indicators as the primary reference; perhaps short-term might yield surprises instead.
Charts are difficult, and it's hard to judge what the true major players intend to do in the next phase. They might accidentally click the wrong buy or sell button, leading to misinterpretation. For example, you can't analyze Trump's actions with quantitative methods unless you know insider accounts.
