Astaroth Lurks in the Shadows 🌑, Bypassing 2FA Through Deception 🔓🎭
●What is Astaroth?
Astaroth is originally known as a "Great Duke of Hell" in mythology 😈, but in cybersecurity, it refers to a dangerous malware🦠 also known as Guildma.
It’s an info-stealing Trojan that silently grabs sensitive data like:
- 🌐 Browser history
- 📋 Clipboard content
- ✉️ Email credentials
- 💳 Banking login info
- ⌨️ Keystrokes
It started mostly in Latin America, but it’s spreading worldwide 🌍.
●Can Astaroth break Two-Step Verification (2FA)?
Short answer:Not directly
But it can bypass 2FA through phishing and trickery 🎣🕵️‍♂️
●How it works:
1. You get a fake login page that looks just like Gmail, Binance, etc. 🕸️
2. You enter your username + password 👤🔑
3. Then it asks for your 2FA code like normal 📲
4. Meanwhile, the attacker uses that info to log in to the real site before the code expires ⚠️

So:
- They don’t hack the 2FA system itself 🧠
- They trick you into handing over the code 🫣

Final Thoughts
- Astaroth is very dangerous ⚠️
- 2FA is still helpful ✅ but not foolproof if you fall for a phishing scam 🎭
- Always check the **URL carefully** before entering any info 🔍
- Don’t click random links from unknown sources 🚫📩
