Metaplanet, a Japanese company, has been acquiring Bitcoin (BTC) consistently. Recently, it bought 319 BTC for $26.3 million, bringing its total to 4,525 BTC. The company aims to acquire 10,000 BTC by 2025 and 21,000 BTC by 2026.

Metaplanet issues stock acquisition rights and bonds to fund its Bitcoin purchases. Its BTC returns have risen 108.3% in 2025. The company is the ninth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder and the largest in Asia, with a portfolio valued at approximately $261.8 million. Metaplanet's strategy is similar to MicroStrategy's, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally.
