Ethena Labs & Securitize Reveal 2025 Converge Network Roadmap
Ethena Labs and Securitize have unveiled the roadmap for Converge, a high-speed blockchain that aims to merge real-world assets with DeFi. A testnet is expected soon, with the mainnet set for late 2025. Key goals include:
Block time: 100ms at launch, targeting 50ms by Q4 2025
Throughput: Aiming for 1+ gigagas (billions of gas units/sec)
Use cases: Both permissioned RWAs and permissionless DeFi
The move reflects growing TradFi–DeFi convergence. While some in the crypto community raise concerns over institutional influence, others see regulation as a catalyst for innovation and cost-efficiency.
SilentSwap’s founder, Shibtoshi, noted that institutional DeFi adoption is rising despite privacy and regulatory hurdles — with a third of institutional crypto investors using DeFi as early as 2021.
