📌 Curiosities and Care about Tokens and Airdrops
🔍 Interesting Facts:
The first major airdrop was that of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) in 2017, where BTC holders received 1 BCH for each BTC they held.
Uniswap (UNI) surprised in 2020 with an airdrop of 400 tokens per user (which later were worth thousands of dollars).
Some projects use fake airdrops to steal private keys (beware of scams!).
⚠️ Risks and how to protect yourself:
Fake airdrops: Never share your seed phrase or connect your wallet to suspicious sites.
"Dusting" tokens: They send small amounts of crypto to your wallet to track your activity. Do not interact with them.
Impostors on social media: Fake projects promise airdrops if you RT or send ETH. They are scams!
Hidden costs: Some airdrops require you to pay gas fees to claim… and then give nothing.
💡 Safe tips:
✔️ Use a secondary wallet (not your main one) for airdrops.
✔️ Research the project before claiming (is there a real team? Is the contract audited?).
✔️ Never sign transactions without understanding what they do.
