1. Why become a KOL in the crypto space?

Your influence will grow, and strangers will trust you more. Don’t say in the crypto space; being a small KOL in any industry will benefit your own career.

From a direct benefit perspective, various white lists, collaborations, advertisements, prioritize considering KOL.

Regarding personal growth, as a KOL, you need to keep outputting. This output will force input, and thus you will keep learning, researching, and growing. Gradually, you will become a more prominent figure in the community.

Many people will tell you that being a KOL is hard now. It has always been hard for ordinary people at any time; once you start, it’s not difficult anymore.

Back when I was in the airdrop studio, those who didn’t understand the crypto space now have hundreds of thousands of fans in the airdrop track, receiving advertisements monthly and making some small money. The key is that they continuously release tutorials daily. Those with this kind of perseverance are suitable for being KOLs, and you don’t need to have any writing skills; just copy.

2. Choosing a channel.

In terms of social media choice, back in 2017, when Blue Star didn’t know much about using VPNs, I was looking at Weibo. Later, when Weibo became saturated, I learned to set up a VPN myself, then came to Twitter and got in touch with YouTube.

Every channel has its benefit period and also its saturation period; there’s no way around it, it’s a natural law.

Try to choose a new channel, and you will have your own benefit period. You should also work on well-developed channels; after all, it’s just about copying and pasting.

There are information gaps between channels.

Therefore, channels can mutually transfer content.

Don’t get caught up in whether something is original or not. Blue Star recorded airdrop operation videos on YouTube at that time, using others' Twitter tutorials and directly recording because even if others had written tutorials, many people still wouldn’t know how to operate. So, this method still attracted attention.

Generally speaking, English channels) Chinese channels, Twitter channels) YouTube channels) domestic Weibo) Xiaohongshu.

Now Binance Square hasn’t been developed for long, and it can be said to have a benefit period, but just like public accounts, there are various restrictions, unlike Twitter where there is more freedom of speech.

3. Which niche field should you focus on?

Now in the crypto space, there are various fields, it depends on your own interests. I don't recommend becoming a trading KOL; trading is counterintuitive because you are an ordinary person. Only after suffering significant losses can you gradually become steady.

In the early stages, you can try various things to see which track you can adapt to better, and then focus on that track.

I can't provide you with advice on this matter.

Look at Lao Lang and Xiao Zhi, who focus on being KOLs for off-market guarantees; they can also earn some income, making five or six thousand a day when things are good.

Because Blue Star has done off-market guarantees, at that time, with blob inscriptions, probably earned about 30,000 yuan in a week, with 2% taken from both sides, earning money and gaining people.

I’m not telling you to become a big KOL; being a small KOL in a niche field is possible for anyone as long as you put in a little effort.

Then pay attention to cross-industry; it’s best if you can cryptoize your own main job.

For example, if you are in design, then you can do design + crypto. You understand design well and know a bit about crypto, so many project teams can find you for design work, and many community design jobs can also find you.

4. How to become a KOL?

Information input channels) process information into content) publish content on channels) data review.

How to solve the problem of information input channels?

I’m reminded of a line: the world isn’t just about fighting; it’s about human relationships.

Decide what type of KOL you want to be, and then mix in the corresponding communities and circles.

On one hand, in this community and circle, you can obtain first-hand information; on the other hand, you can get familiar faces, and industry seniors can help you gain followers.

Don’t feel sorry for the little money you spent to enter the field; you will earn it back later.

Whenever I enter a new industry, the quickest way to gather information is to join a paid group and see what peers are saying and doing. I also show my face in the group, asking all sorts of silly questions.

Moreover, there are many free groups, free communities, and free mutual follow groups available now.

Writing this, I think we should create a mutual promotion group, where everyone’s posts can like and comment on each other. This way, if you have one fan and I have one fan, through mutual promotion, we both become two fans.

If you already have stable information acquisition channels, then you need to extract information yourself and process it into content.

If you really don’t know how to process it, copying is fine. This copying doesn’t mean copying within the same channel, but rather transferring content from one channel to another, such as turning a text tutorial into a video tutorial or turning content from Twitter into content for Xiaohongshu. The more you copy, the more original you will become.

For example, if you are a source of information for financing websites, then whenever new project financing information comes out, you analyze it and directly produce a tutorial, making you the latest tutorial in the community, and others will likely come to copy yours.

Don’t worry about whether you’re doing well or not; just get started. Everyone starts off doing something that looks like crap.

Look at Shapowang, at that time it was doing chart KOL, do you think it’s difficult?

It’s not difficult; any college student who knows Excel can do this, and later you will have templates, making it quite simple.

Then you mention mind mapping + crypto content, is it difficult? It’s not difficult.

There are also many who directly translate foreigners' Twitter content into Chinese and then publish it; do you think it’s difficult? It’s not difficult.

I’m not saying you have to be huge; if you can earn about 10,000 yuan in advertising fees a month or through this work, you can earn other income, which is better than working for someone else.

I have never seen anyone go bankrupt because they became a KOL, but there are plenty who went bankrupt because they became a KOL and then engaged in trading.

Still, the saying goes, the crypto space revolves around providing services for trading, and it definitely can be profitable, but if you engage in trading, there’s a high probability of losing money.

Teaching people to trade stocks for profit while likely losing money in their own trading is somewhat amusing.

This article doesn’t have much practical content; the choice of channels is a key point. Also, pay attention to cross-industry cryptoization, which is also a point worth inspiring. Lastly, the choice of information sources is crucial. If you get these points right, it’s enough to make you a small KOL in the crypto space.
