The White House released a document informing that China faces a tariff of up to 245% on imports to the United States, as a result of its retaliatory actions.

The U.S. government does not explain how it arrived at the calculation of this rate that will be applied to Chinese products, since the announced measures do not reach 200%. There are 125% in retaliatory tariffs, 20% announced earlier this year, and 25% on steel and aluminum imports.

The document also details the main tariff measures of Donald Trump. "On Liberation Day, President Trump imposed a 10% tariff on all countries and individualized higher reciprocal tariffs on nations with which the U.S. has the largest trade deficits, in order to level the playing field and protect U.S. national security," the text states.

The government claims that more than 75 countries have already approached U.S. authorities to discuss new trade agreements and that, because of this, the higher individualized tariffs are paused, with the exception of China, which retaliated against the U.S. with an increase in tariffs.
