Recently, a major case was uncovered in Shandong involving a scam targeting Indians called the "Killing Foreign Plate" fraud, with an amount involved exceeding 40 million RMB, affecting a total of 66,800 Indian victims! The Heze Court has already sentenced 9 scammers.
This group started their operations in May 2023, renting a venue in Shandong to set up a scam team. They posed as single wealthy women from India, posting fitness photos and travel pictures on social media to specifically target Indian men for emotional manipulation.
They boasted about a "SENEE Network Investment Platform" that could return 8%-15% monthly, tricking Indians into investing money. Once the investments grew, they would shut down the platform or convert the investments into "debt-to-equity swaps," making it impossible to retrieve the funds. They also laundered money through virtual currency, taking a 15% profit for themselves.
To make the scam appear "legitimate," they forged trademark registrations, business licenses, financial licenses, and other documents, even setting the location of their social media accounts in India to enhance credibility.
The team had clear divisions of labor: some were responsible for recruiting and training, some planned the scam scripts, some maintained the fake platforms, and others specifically handled the flow of funds. In just over 7 months, they scammed 517 million Indian Rupees (approximately 40 million RMB).
The court determined this was an organized, well-structured transnational scam group, with 9 people receiving prison sentences. The judge reminded everyone to be vigilant against such schemes involving "high returns + emotional deception + fake qualifications", both domestically and internationally.
Although this time they targeted foreigners, such tactics are equally effective against domestic citizens. If you encounter someone claiming to be a "rich and beautiful girl" or a "handsome and wealthy guy" enticing you to invest, do not believe them! The country is increasing its crackdown on telecom fraud, and scammers should stop while they can!
