#美国半导体关税 US Semiconductor Tariffs: A Short-Sighted Move That Harms Everyone

Recently, the US has been active regarding semiconductor tariffs. First, it announced exemptions for certain electronic products from 'reciprocal tariffs', and then it claimed it would impose separate tariffs on semiconductors, expected to be implemented in one to two months. This action by the US, under the guise of 'ensuring the return of critical technology to American manufacturing', is essentially a short-sighted move driven by political interests.

From the perspective of the global semiconductor industry, although the US leads in technology research and design, it is highly dependent on Asia for production, with a 65% reliance on semiconductor imports. Increasing tariffs will raise chip prices, harming the interests of American companies and consumers, and may also lead to a split in the global semiconductor supply chain.

The US semiconductor tariff policy is a blatant provocation to the global economic order. Only by abandoning unilateralism and addressing differences through win-win cooperation and dialogue can we ensure the stability and development of the global semiconductor industry.
