seen lots of posts of people getting hacked recently

safety tips:

- 2FA on an old phone instead of everyday phone. keep that phone offline, and somewhere safe—when you upgrade to a new phone, instead of trading it in, just cycle

- stop reusing the same password for everything. your chipotle account gets hacked so now you lost your crypto portfolio—think of how dumb that sounds

- don’t keep your seed phrase anywhere digital; this includes a screenshot on your phone. written by hand and kept in 2 secure places (one semi-accessible, the other as a fail-safe)

- don’t use exchanges as a bank account. If I had a dollar for every horror story I’ve heard about exchange accounts freezing funds / getting hacked, I’d have like…a lot of dollars

- limit api usage. know what you’re connecting and automatically assume that entire account is now 10x more susceptible to being compromised

- stop clicking links. all my friends know, no matter how much I trust them, I’m not clicking that shit—you shouldn’t either

there is no point in surviving drawdown if the end result is you getting hacked anyways—if you think missing out on a trade / selling too early / giving back profit is bad, you’ll feel 100x worse losing your funds bc of some security issue that could’ve been prevented with minimal effort

most of these seem obvious, but small things that we tend to overlook are often the most costly, because we pay them no mind

paranoia is how you survive—stay safe
