Ripple Confirms Euro Stablecoin Launch on XRP Ledger
Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s Managing Director for the UK and Europe, has confirmed the launch of a Euro-backed stablecoin on the XRP Ledger. The announcement was made at Paris Blockchain Week 2025, with Société Générale’s digital asset arm, SocGen Forge, leading the project.
Initially collaborating on custody solutions, Ripple and SocGen Forge have now expanded their partnership to include the issuance of the MiCA-compliant Euro-CV stablecoin. This move positions the XRP Ledger as a key player in regulated stablecoin infrastructure, alongside Ethereum.
Craddock emphasized Ripple’s broader vision of building a full-scale digital asset ecosystem—from payments and custody to tokenization. She highlighted the importance of bank-grade custody, acquired in 2023, as foundational to these efforts. This infrastructure enables Ripple to support institutions in asset tokenization and compliance, even without direct involvement.
Ripple’s ecosystem aims to empower developers and institutions, with early signs showing promising progress, though global scalability remains a work in progress.
