#USElectronicsTariffs
President Donald Trump added electronics to his list of products released from mutual tariffs on Friday. The broader list of imported smartphones, modules for flat panels, and electronic integration circuits is not covered by 10% based around the world. The President has included these products in a list of 20 harmonized tariff system codes that he qualifies as a semi-classroom. In previous orders, the President explicitly excluded semiconductors along with some important minerals from treatments with drugs, copper, energy, energy products, wooden items, copper, and mutual tariff treatments. However, the exact list of products that fit these categories remained open to interpretation. Friday's memorandum guarantees that the interpretation of semiconductors from civil servants includes an expanded list of products, including some electronics. The new exception will take effect from April 5th, and senders can apply for a refund for tasks paid for newly released products, according to a message from US Customs Border Protection.
