Today on Twitter, some KOLs criticized the mutual following of blue V accounts, feeling that these types of accounts are of low quality and affect their timelines, even considering it a "garbage" behavior. Yet, they seem to have forgotten that their own accounts didn't start off that "elegant". When they initially gained followers through retweeting giveaways, mimicking popular content, and adapting others' ideas, why didn't they call that low quality?
The mutual following of blue V accounts and the initial follower-gaining through giveaways are essentially aimed at increasing exposure and attracting attention, without any distinction in quality. KOLs feel that since they now have tens of thousands of followers, they have become "talented" and "content-rich" high-quality accounts, but is that really the case? Many times, so-called "original" content is merely a repackaging of someone else's material, expressed differently and reposted; everyone is copying each other, and no one should feel superior.
This world is essentially a makeshift stage, where there aren't that many purely "high-quality" accounts. Instead of complaining that blue V mutual follows lower the standards, it might be better to lower one's own stance and join in to become more active together.
