Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, confirmed a $570 million hack on its Binance Smart Chain—a cross-chain bridge used for asset transfers across networks.

This breach exposed key vulnerabilities in DeFi, where transactions are governed by code.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao told CNBC:

“Software code is never bug-free.”

He noted no user funds were lost, but warned that cross-chain bridges remain high-risk targets.

In a blog post, BSC apologized, acknowledging:

“We’ve seen repeated attacks targeting these vulnerabilities. We’ll share a full postmortem and steps to improve security going forward.”

Bottom line: Cross-chain bridge security is a growing concern. Stay informed, stay secure.
