MEV Bot "Yoink" steals $200,000 from Wayfinder's PROMPT airdrop
An MEV bot named "Yoink" exploited a vulnerability in the airdrop of PROMPT tokens from the AI blockchain project Wayfinder to frontrun (get ahead of) reward claims from Kaito users, seizing approximately 119 ETH (equivalent to $200,000).
TokenTable – the entity responsible for the airdrop – has temporarily suspended the distribution process and committed to refunding (including gas fees) the affected users. They confirmed that the smart contract is still safe and that MEV is the main cause of the incident.
Wayfinder launched the token release event on Ethereum and Base on Thursday, distributing $PROMPT to PRIME stakers and “yappers” – Kaito users active on social media. The bot “Yoink” blocked these requests, swapped PROMPT for ETH, and transferred it back to its own wallet (0xFDe0d), which currently holds over 64 ETH.
