I have three openings for contracts:
When it rises, I won't open. Because a rise can be finished in just a few minutes after a month, and as soon as I open a long position, all the negative news comes.
When it falls, I won't open. Because shorting can only earn you up to double, which is not promising, and as soon as I open a short position, all the positive news comes.
When it consolidates, I won't open. Because the market opinions are not unified, if I open, I will be stuck and have to stop-loss repeatedly.
