Bitcoin plummeted below $75,000 on Monday for the first time since Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election in early November 2024. On Monday, around 15:45 GMT, the most capitalized cryptocurrency fell by 6.66% compared to Friday at 22:00, to $78,521.38, after briefly dropping below this symbolic threshold.

Ether, the second most important digital currency, dropped by 14.04%, to $1,562.83. Others were similarly affected, such as Dogecoin and Solana.
