Ethereum is about to undergo a major system update!
Whether it can save itself from crisis depends on this...
The Pectra upgrade is like giving a car maintenance; it not only solves current minor issues but, more importantly, lays the foundation for major transformations next year.
Don’t be fooled by the number of updates this time; they are actually paving the way for the "super upgrade" Fusaka around 2025 — that's the real game-changer for Ethereum.
The Fusaka upgrade hides two killer features:
The first is called the "Express Sorting System" (PeerDAS), which will process transaction data like an intelligent sorting machine for express delivery, directly doubling efficiency.
The second is the "Developer's Gift Pack" (EOF), specifically designed to optimize the development environment, making writing smart contracts as easy as building with Lego blocks.
At the core, a "Super Database" (Verkle Tree) needs to be installed; this thing allows Ethereum nodes to find data quickly and save space.
To put it simply, previously you had to flip through a whole book to find information, but now you can directly pinpoint a specific page and line, saving hard drive space and speeding up performance.
However, this major project must be done gradually; it won't go live until at least mid-year, and it will depend on how smoothly the preliminary upgrades go.
As for how far Ethereum can go in the future, the key will depend on the effectiveness of this Pectra upgrade.
We need to look at both the technical parameters and whether users are on board.
Let’s grab our little stools and see if this upgrade can reignite Ethereum's popularity.
