As someone who entered the circle in 2021 and graduated from a fashion program, I didn't follow my classmates to study Fashion Design abroad but resolutely transitioned to the Blockchain Industry.
Start from the most basic intern, take one step at a time, and explore forward on this unfamiliar and turbulent road 🐾
Now I can barely support myself and not worry my family too much 🥺
During the @EthTaipei event, many university students who want to enter #Web3 full-time asked me:
"How to get into the circle? What are the requirements?"
Only then did I realize that I have already become a senior in the eyes of others. Although sharing my limited experience is a bit shy, it's great to be able to help others!
Here is my learning journey:
🎯 1. Start from a low-threshold position
Intern, Mod, Collab Manager, part-time BD, accumulating the first experience is more important than pursuing an ideal position at the beginning.
Web3 emphasizes "what you have done, let data speak", followed by "educational background".
🎯 2. Research projects and try different opportunities
At first, I relied on my 3D design skills from college, actively pitching to NFT projects on Discord, and landed my first freelance job.
Later found a Marketing Intern for the Web3 wallet, transitioned to CM, and tried different roles such as AMA Host, Event Planner, Agency, and Incubator.
"Don't limit yourself, try everything you can."
🎯 3. Find your own track
Everyone has a "calling" in Web3; the key is to find the field you are good at and interested in.
My path is:
•2022 Centralized exchange fee arbitrage, brick-moving
•2023 Early stage projects in the primary market, airdrops, and rumbling.
•2024 DeFi staking, P small generals, for example, achieving 66 times returns in a Fair Launch.
As long as you get in there and play yourself, you will eventually find your own niche.
🎯 4. Embrace uncertainty and walk with the market
Web3 is not a stable industry; major black swan events like FTX led to me being laid off twice. I started with part-time and freelance work, developing skills while exploring.
As long as you get through the initial chaos, there are more opportunities than you think.
🎯 5. Connections are your best friends
This circle values initiative and action. Attend meetings, exchange resources, become your own benefactor; when your goals are clear, the whole world will come to help you.
🎯 Thank you for reading this far!
Everyone starts differently, but as long as you keep investing, stay curious, and resilient, you will find your place in Web3.
The future is long, let's work hard together, we will meet again soon in different forms 🩵
