American Bitcoin Launch

A new player has entered the Bitcoin mining scene with the launch of American Bitcoin Corp. on Monday, March 31, 2025. This venture is a collaboration between the well-established Bitcoin mining firm Hut 8 and American Data Centers, a company with investors including Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Under this agreement, Hut 8 has contributed the majority of its ASIC miners in exchange for an 80% stake in American Bitcoin. American Data Centers holds the remaining 20%. Eric Trump will take on the role of Chief Strategy Officer in the new company.

American Bitcoin aims to become the largest and most efficient pure-play Bitcoin miner globally, with plans to build a significant strategic Bitcoin reserve. The company intends to go public to enhance its access to capital. This launch signifies a notable increase in the Trump family's involvement in the cryptocurrency sector, aligning with President Trump's stated goal of the U.S. becoming a leader in the crypto industry.
