Answer: SCDO uses an improved proof-of-work consensus mechanism called ZPoW (Zero Proof-of-Work) consensus. Essentially, ZPoW falls under the category of PoW, but it has been optimized to address the issues present in traditional PoW (such as mining power monopoly and resource waste).
All nodes in the SCDO network participate in block competition through hash calculations, with the successful ones obtaining the right to record new blocks and receive block rewards. Although it is still fundamentally based on “computational power,” SCDO has innovatively improved the details of the PoW algorithm, making competition among miners fairer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly. It is important to emphasize that the SCDO mainnet **does not use proof of stake (PoS)** or delegated proof of stake (DPoS) consensus, but instead chooses to adhere to the PoW path, significantly enhancing the fairness and security of PoW through ZPoW.
