Electric vehicles sound cool till you get stranded when you run out of power and need to charge.
That's the frustrating reality for many. But @Zeekr_Europe , a premium electric car brand owned by Geely Auto and @Minima_Global, the embedded layer 1 blockchain are in a partnership to solve the charging anxiety through secure access to private wallboxes.
✒ Why Is This Important?
The provision of public stations are inadequate and though the government are trying to put these in place, it can be expensive and time consuming. In the U.S. alone, experts estimate $38–$81 billion will be needed by 2030 just for public EV charging.
Instead of waiting for big infrastructure projects, Minima and Zeekr’s solution taps into existing private chargers, expanding the network without massive government spending.
Additionally, A recent Shell report found that 49% of people hesitant to switch to EVs worry about finding available charging stations. Meanwhile, Deloitte reports that 90% of EV owners have private chargers at home or work, but these often sit unused.
Minima and Zeekr’s solution puts these underused private chargers to work, creating a community-powered charging network that benefits both wallbox owners and EV drivers.
✒ How it Works?
Zeekr will deploy it's new smart contract IP as an app on Minima blockchain. This app will be able to work on smartphones. With Minima network, Zeekr will generate a secure access control token for each booking which will serve as a digital key that unlocks the wallbox. This key confirms vehicle owners identity, gives access to the wallbox, and makes sure they only pay for the energy they use. Zeekr drivers can reserve a wallbox at specific times, similar to booking a stay on Airbnb. Here's the best part, even without internet, the token can be verified via Bluetooth for uninterrupted charging.
In my opinion, this partnership is game-changer for EV adoption. By turning private wallboxes into shared charging spots, it:
✅ Reduces charging anxiety for drivers.
✅ Helps wallbox owners earn
✅ Makes better use of existing chargers instead of building new ones.
With Zeekr’s luxury EVs and Minima’s blockchain tech, the future of electric mobility looks more accessible and efficient than ever.
What do you think about this partnership and will you consider owning a Zeekr’s Electric Vehicle soon, knowing the charging problem has been solved?
