#SECCrypto2.0

In January 2025, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) initiated "Crypto 2.0," forming a dedicated task force to establish a clear regulatory framework for crypto assets. Led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, the task force aims to provide explicit registration guidelines, develop practical compliance pathways, and create tailored disclosure standards for crypto projects. This initiative addresses previous criticisms of the SEC's reactive enforcement approach, striving to reduce legal ambiguity, foster innovation, and enhance investor protection in the evolving crypto landscape.
