The Japanese company 'Metaplanet', listed on the stock exchange, announced today, Monday, the purchase of 150 Bitcoin to add to its reserves.
This enhances its position as one of the largest holders of Bitcoin in Asia.
The company stated that the average purchase price was 12.6 million Japanese yen per Bitcoin, which is equivalent to about 84,000 dollars, a relatively high amount compared to the operations of 'Strategy', for example.
After the recent purchase, the total holdings of the company in Bitcoin reached 3350 Bitcoin.
So far, 'Metaplanet' has spent 42.216 billion Japanese yen (about 282 million dollars) as part of its investment strategy in Bitcoin.
According to the 'Bitcoin Treasuries' platform, 'Metaplanet' has become the largest institutional owner of Bitcoin in the Asian region, reflecting the growing trend of Japanese companies towards adopting digital assets as part of their financial strategies.
