Meme Coin War Escalates as Pump.Fun Takes on Raydium with PumpSwap DEX on Solana

The competition for dominance in the meme coin market is intensifying as Solana-based launchpad Pump.fun challenges Raydium with the introduction of its own decentralized exchange (DEX), PumpSwap.

Announced in a March 20 thread on X, this move follows Raydium’s recent reveal of LaunchLab, a rival meme coin generator. Previously, Pump.fun relied on Raydium for coin migrations once tokens hit a certain valuation threshold.

PumpSwap to Become the Default Destination for Pump.Fun Meme Coins

Going forward, all meme coins created through Pump.fun that complete their bonding curve will migrate directly to PumpSwap. The new platform offers:

Instant migrations

Zero migration fees

Increased liquidity

Upcoming creator revenue sharing

Similar to Raydium V4 and Uniswap V2, PumpSwap will utilize a Constant Product Automated Market Maker (AMM). This will allow token creators to:

Establish their own liquidity pools for free

Add liquidity to existing pools

Trade any tokens available on PumpSwap

In a post explaining the motivation behind PumpSwap, Pump.fun stated:

“From day 1, our goal was to create the most frictionless environment for trading coins.

Migrations were a major point of friction—they slowed a coin’s momentum and added unnecessary complexity for new users.

Now, migrations happen instantly and for free.”

PumpSwap Trading Fees & Distribution

Each trade on PumpSwap will incur a 0.25% fee, in line with industry standards. The breakdown is as follows:

0.20% distributed to liquidity providers

0.05% allocated to the liquidity pool

This distribution will adjust once the creator revenue-sharing model is launched.

PENGU, APT & Other Major Tokens Now Available on PumpSwap

Pump.fun also announced that several popular tokens are already tradable on PumpSwap, including:

Pudgy Penguins (PENGU)

Aptos (APT)

Jupiter (JUP)

Wormhole (W)

Sei (SEI)

LayerZero (ZRO)
