If we talk about the hottest projects in the BTC ecosystem recently, it must be Babylon. Panda recommends a re-staking project from the Babylon ecosystem today, which has secured $17 million in funding, led by Polychain Capital, with follow-up investments from Babylon, OKX Ventures, and Binance Labs, making it a luxurious lineup.

Lombard is a BTC re-staking protocol where users stake BTC into LBTC on Lombard, and then deposit LBTC into other DeFi protocols to earn LBTC interest. Users can also receive points rewards from Lombard, Babylon, and other staking protocols for potential airdrop opportunities, achieving the advantage of multiple benefits.

Sonic is a Layer-1 platform with an Ethereum security gateway, with a total financing of $120 million. Tokens have already been issued, but in January 2025, it announced the launch of the S-token airdrop plan, where users can earn tokens through points.

Directly to the tutorial:

  1. First, withdraw the amount of BTC you want to stake to your OKX wallet or another wallet supported by Lombard via the Bitcoin main chain.

2. Withdraw a certain amount of Eth (for example, 0.005) to your on-chain wallet as Gas.

3. Click on https://www.lombard.finance/app/?referrer=wcumqy to enter the staking page, where you can gain an additional 10% bonus in points.

Click Connect wallet to link to your wallet. Panda has chosen the OKX wallet, and the following interface will appear.

Panda is using the OKX wallet, so click on the OKX wallet icon; you can choose according to your own wallet.

4. Enter the amount of BTC you want to stake, then click get LBTC on Ethereum.

Then click authorize.

Click confirm in the pop-up wallet.

You need to wait for about half an hour, as the Bitcoin chain is relatively slow.

After waiting for half an hour for processing to complete, you can stake BTC to get LBTC.

After clicking Stake and confirming, you need to wait for about an hour to obtain LBTC.

5. After waiting about an hour for LBTC to be generated, click Vaults, 1. Click the Access button in the 4th Bitcoin Sonic Vault section.

6. Enter the amount you want to deposit, then click the Approve & Deposit button.

Wait a few minutes until successful.

You can check your staking amount on the Bitcoin Sonic Vault interface.

Lombard points can be viewed on the Vault interface and accumulate daily.

In addition to 4 times the points from Lombard, you can also enjoy 2-4 times the Sonic points, 1 time the Babylon points, and 3 times the Veda points. Lombard, Babylon, and Veda have not issued tokens yet, and Sonic has also announced on January 15, 2025, that it will provide token airdrops to users through the points program, making it a scenario of multiple benefits!

Important reminder from Panda: If your liquidity requirement for BTC is relatively high, this project may not be suitable, as Sonic has not yet launched an exit mechanism. If you want to choose something that allows for exit, you can opt for the first DeFi Vault pool, which has all other points except Sonic points. Exiting takes 10-12 days (it takes 3 days to withdraw from Vaults and 7-9 days to unstake LBTC back to BTC).

If you have idle BTC, this project is of very high quality. Deposit into Lombard to enjoy BTC staking interest while also gaining potential airdrop opportunities from quality projects.
