The price of Bitcoin (BTC) and several other cryptocurrencies fell on Thursday (20/3/2025), after briefly rising following the interest rate decision from the Central Bank of America (The Fed) and statements from President of the United States Donald Trump.
Bitcoin fell to US$ 84.000, after previously touching US$ 87.500. Ethereum also dropped to US$ 1.66 to US$ 1.965. Altcoins like Dogecoin, IOTA, and JasmyCoin even fell more than 4 percent. Overall, the cryptocurrency market value shrank by 1.5 percent to US$ 2.74 trillion.
One of the reasons for this decline is Trump's video speech at the Digital Asset Summit cryptocurrency conference in New York. He expressed support for cryptocurrencies and stated that digital assets could strengthen the dominance of the US dollar.
