The price of Pi Network is plummeting amid dilution challenges.
The biggest challenge facing Pi Network is its dilution, as billions of new tokens are set to enter circulation in the coming years. This is because Pi coin has 6.820 billion tokens in circulation, much less than the maximum supply of 100 billion. This means that the remaining 93.800 billion tokens will enter circulation at some point.
Data shows that Pi Network will unlock 118 million tokens this month and 182 million in April. In May, 222 million of these tokens will be unlocked, followed by 233 million in June. In total, more than 1.600 billion tokens will be unlocked in the next twelve months.
Token unlocks are often highly dilutive, as they introduce more coins at a time when there is not enough demand.
