Spotlighting Tezos Art Community

With each passing month, the art coming from the Tezos community continues to evolve, bringing new perspectives, techniques, and stories to life. The ‘ART’icle of the Month is one way to recognize the artists who make this ecosystem vibrant and dynamic. Through bold experimentation and refined digital craftsmanship, these creators shape the artistic language of Tezos culture.

This month’s featured artists have been nominated by fellow members of the Tezos community, who took a moment to tag the work of artists they love. By amplifying their voices, we strengthen the creative network that makes Tezos such a powerful space for artistic expression. Let’s dive in and celebrate some talented artists.

Recap On How To Nominate Artists for ‘Art’icle Of The Month

When you see a piece on X that stands out, take a moment to comment or quote-retweet it with the hashtag #TezARTicle. Share what makes the art meaningful to you, whether it’s the technique, message, creative approach, or all of the above. On Objkt, you can often find the artist’s X handle in their profile to tag them directly. Each month, up to five selected nominees are featured, giving both emerging and established artists a chance to reach a wider audience.

Nominations for March 2025

Let’s come together and celebrate the art of this month’s nominees:

  • Mariela Gonzalez / @nectar_ph

  • Masoud Jorsara / @masoudjorsara8

  • QishlaQ / @QishlaQ_

  • Juniper Paisley / @Juniper_Paisley

  • Acid_Reindeer / @TEXADELIC_EXP

Mariela Gonzalez: Photographer, Nature Lover

Photography is a unique art form that requires an artist to be fully present and aware of every detail in the moment. It’s about scanning the environment for perspectives that capture and showcase life itself. With so much manufactured chaos pulling attention away from the beauty of the world, a photographer capturing a simple, beautiful scene can feel like an act of quiet rebellion. While many focus on the noise, a few lovely souls, like Mariela, choose to highlight the peaceful beauty of nature. Let’s take a closer look at her photography.

“Blue” is a photo Mariela captured on a cloudy day at a lake in Puerto Varas, Chile. It’s a perfect example of a photographer recognizing and acting upon a picture-perfect moment. The way the sky and water blend into matching blue hues gives the impression of a painting, with a single red buoy standing out as the only contrast in the frame. The composition is both captivating and mysterious, drawing the viewer in.

Another standout piece in Mariela’s Objkt portfolio is “Nu”, a 2019 photograph of her sheep, Nube. The image has a mesmerizing kaleidoscope effect, not created through post-editing but achieved by holding a prism over the lens. Shortly after this photo was taken, Nube was put up for adoption. As we admire the artistry, we also share a moment of Mariela’s personal history, hopeful that Nube found a warm and loving home.

Masoud Jorsara: Photographer, Art Director

While much of photography is inspired by nature, street photographers like Masoud Jorsara turn their focus to daily life, capturing the movement of people and the structures they build. From culture and community to architecture and history, documenting the human experience is an art of its own. Let’s explore some of the powerful images Masoud has captured.

In the Objkt collection “Sleep Paralysis,” Masoud captures people sleeping in public places, often surrounded by striking architecture and cultural design. In “Window to My Soul,” a man sleeps on the concrete ground, using a plastic bag as a pillow. Behind him, a building with textured walls and painted windows creates a visually rich backdrop. The contrast between the vibrant, expressive architecture and the exhausted man, seemingly homeless, tells a quiet but deeply moving story.

Another standout piece from the “Sleep Paralysis” collection is “Flying Above You.” This photograph captures a worker in an unusual and vulnerable moment, where sleep paralysis seems like the only explanation. A to-go box, the person’s uniform, and a broom in the frame suggest they are a janitor on a lunch break who simply ran out of energy, collapsing into an awkward resting place near a flight of stairs. This fleeting moment in time leaves the viewer wondering about this person’s story and hoping they are okay.

This series brings attention to the harsh realities of homelessness and the toll it takes on those who endure it. Life on the streets forces people into a constant survival state, leaving little room for rest. Through his lens, Masoud captures not just beautiful images, but the weight of human struggle, inviting us to look closer, empathize, and reflect. QishlaQ: Experimentalist, Cinematographer, Photographer

Another incredible photographer to explore on Tezos is QishlaQ, whose work spans everything from street scenes and architecture to nature and even cats. While there are some exceptions, most of Qishla’s photography on Objkt is in black and white, using contrast, perspective, and shadows to create striking compositions that draw viewers in.

When architecture is the subject of a photograph, the photographer becomes a messenger, digitizing a physical, man-made art form that might otherwise be experienced only by those in that specific location. In “Descent,” we not only admire Qishla’s artistic eye and stylistic choices but also the collective craftsmanship behind the structure itself. The building’s intricate details form a deep contrast that turns this black-and-white photograph into a stunning conversation piece.

In the piece titled, “Qat?”, we are reminded of the power of perspective in photography. A simple snapshot of a cat can be transformed into fine art, depending on how it is framed. The top-down angle of this adorable kitty, combined with a perfectly balanced contrast, makes for a truly delightful image. An image that, like many of Qishla’s works, also comes with thoughtful and poetic descriptions. Juniper Paisley: 7 Year Old Artist

Introduced to the Tezos community by her father Hello Carmello, Juniper is a young creative who is exploring and discovering her love for making art. Managed by Hello Carmello who has been an active artist in the Tezos community since the early days, the father-daughter duo offers a charming and insightful layer to the Tezos story. Juniper’s exact medium of choice is still yet to be determined, with plenty of time to just enjoy the journey of creating. Someday far in the future, people will look at these early Juniper NFTs and say, “This is where it all started”.

“Window Session #1: The Cat Dinah” is an illustration of a cat on glass. Being one of Juniper’s earlier NFTs when she was only three years old, you can admire the simplistic yet accurate representation of a cat as it looks at you begging for dinner. It’s playfully rudimentary yet somehow well-composed and showcases the early hints of a talented artist in the making.

Minted 3 years later, “Caterina Killer” is a perfect artwork to showcase the vast development Juniper is experiencing as an artist. In full color, we see a cat named Caterina, who, based on the description, is performing on stage. If she wins, she gets to keep the dress. A cute story and even cuter illustration. It has compositional depth, clean lines, and even well-written and accurately spelled words in a speech bubble. Super impressive considering Juniper was only six years old when this was created.

Acid_Reindeer AKA Texadelic: Memetic, Abstract, Experimental

Minting art on Tezos since late 2021, Acid_Reindeer, formerly known as Texadelic, has created over a thousand original works available as NFTs on Objkt. His art isn’t just about figures or scenes, it’s about the process. Each piece is put through layers of abstraction, distortion, and reconstruction, leaving behind something that feels raw, weathered, and deeply personal. Colors carry weight, blending and clashing to tell unspoken stories, shaping compositions that invite the viewer to interpret them in their own way.

Recently, the Tezos-based initiative, This Is A Raid (T.I.A.R), hosted a raid and collected art from both the Texadelic and Acid_Reindeer accounts. During this raid, Tex was working on a new piece called, “Impala”. This abstract pixelated artwork introduces Pala, a personified Impala, but the real essence lies beyond the subject. The colors, placement, and hints of movement within the piece embody the calm yet chaotic duality that defines much of Acid_Reindeer’s work, a visual echo of life’s own contradictions.

In “The Finish Line,” we witness a symbolic transition. Texadelic, as a persona, reaches the finish line and steps into the new Acid_Reindeer era. This shift, as noted in the NFT’s description, marks a more focused artistic direction. But even in this moment of clarity, the work remains as fluid and interpretive as ever. The illustration, though structured, still carries the same experimental energy that keeps viewers engaged. Are they racing scooters? Golf carts? There’s a putter, so maybe both? The point isn’t to answer the question, but to sit with the uncertainty and let the art take you where your own mind wants to go.
