1/➞ Most ppl don’t even learn to DYOR.
They just find someone more knowledgeable & blindly trust
"I don’t understand anything and will never know better than infs. My opinion is already shaped by theirs. Why bother researching myself?"
I used to think so too - but it’s wrong
You need to understand that crypto is a zero-sum game, and everyone here has their own agenda (myself included).
That’s why almost every influencer post u see has a hidden motive:
They shill a coin because they hold a big bag and need an exit
The project paid them for promo
They have unsold bags they don’t want to dump, so they stay bullish
Just farm engagement (most common)
etc., etc., etc...
So you always need to dig deeper when listening to influencers. Only then will you find truly good opportunities.
That’s why knowing how to research yourself is so important.
(And in reality, learning to see an influencer’s true intent is the key skill of doing your own research)

Hard to make money fixing cars if you don't know how to fix cars
The same is obvious for crypto.
How can you assess Ethereum's upside without knowing what staking/lending/borrowing is?
Or how can you provide liquidity without understanding what APY is?
4/➞ It's obvious that you can't learn everything in crypto, and it's not even necessary
You can focus on 1-2 narratives but still have an understanding of many things
That's why I created a list of skills that you definitely need and a list of things you can learn:
