Ripple Expands Digital Asset Services with 'Ripple Custody' Trademark Filing

Ripple Labs has filed a trademark application for "Ripple Custody," aiming to broaden its digital asset offerings. The application, submitted on February 25, 2025, covers services related to the management and storage of cryptocurrencies, fiat currencies, virtual #currencies , and digital currencies.

This move follows Ripple's strategic acquisition of Swiss-based digital asset custody and tokenization provider Metaco in May 2023 for $250 million. The acquisition positioned Ripple to support the growing institutional crypto custody market, projected to reach $10 trillion by 2030.

The announcement of the trademark filing coincided with an 8% decline in $XRP ‘s price, bringing it to $2.30 as of March 16, 2025. This price movement reflects market reactions to Ripple's expanding custody services and the broader economic environment.

Ripple's entry into the custody services sector signifies its commitment to providing secure and compliant solutions for digital asset management, catering to both institutional and retail investors. As the digital asset custody market continues to grow, Ripple's initiatives position it as a key player in the evolving financial landscape.
