$TON refers to Toncoin, the native cryptocurrency of The Open Network (TON) blockchain. However, I found that the term "ton" has multiple meanings. In a different context, a ton is a unit of weight equal to 1,000 kilograms or 2,240 pounds.¹ ² It can also refer to a large quantity or amount of something, such as "tons of food". In cricket, a ton is a score of 100 runs by a batter.
