Pi Network KYC Expires: Unverified Users Lose Massive Amount of PI
After numerous warnings and extensions, the #PiNetwork token transfer deadline has passed, and users who completed the KYC transition have lost large amounts of money.
While some Pioneers continue to move forward unaware of the progress, others are reporting technical difficulties in the process. One user in particular reported losing 10,000 PI tokens.

March 14th is Pi Day, and Pi Network is preparing for some major changes to the blockchain project. The token’s price briefly spiked due to the extreme price increase, and the developers launched PiFest to celebrate this progress and encourage further adoption.
Most importantly, today was the deadline for Pi Network users to complete the KYC breakdown and migrate to the mainnet.
‘Final Reminder: The Transition Period requires KYC and Mainnet transfers to be completed by 08:00 UTC on March 14, 2025, or the majority of your Pi, excluding Pi mined in the last 6 months before your Pi is migrated, is out,’ Pi developers stated on social media.
Essentially, the transition means users must complete their KYC requirements or automatically lose most of their tokens. This is not the case for all assets; for example, earnings from the last airdrop are generally safe.
However, the product’s technical specifications were not protected from being wiped, and this is starting to happen.
Many Pi users have reacted with confusion and anger during the final stages of the transition. Major fan accounts have circulated screenshots of large losses, particularly around 10,000 Pi tokens.
Some users have also reported glitches on KYC sites, which have wiped out their earnings or directly caused confusion.
