The federal government has officially established the Crypto Council under the leadership of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, which will play a crucial role in effective policy-making, promoting innovation, and establishing a secure financial system.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will serve as the head of the Pakistan Crypto Council, and Bilal bin Saqib has been appointed as the CEO of this council as the chief advisor to the Finance Minister for the Pakistan Crypto Council.
The statement said that Bilal Saqib will lead this initiative through his expertise in blockchain technology, investment strategies, and digital innovation.
The Ministry of Finance reported that the board members of the Pakistan Crypto Council include the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Federal Secretary of Law, and the Federal Secretary.
Regarding the council, it was said that the council will present recommendations for formulating clear regulatory guidelines for crypto adoption and will provide suggestions for adopting best global practices by establishing links with international crypto and blockchain organizations.
The Ministry of Finance reported that the council will provide recommendations for promoting responsible innovation in collaboration with financial technology, startups, investors, and blockchain developers.
Similarly, the council will develop a robust legal and compliance framework for consumer protection and financial security.
