"Spot trading is not scary" is actually a fatal misconception.
The biggest danger of spot trading is that you feel nothing when the price drops.
Those who trade in spot markets may think that it’s okay if the price drops since the quantity of coins hasn't decreased, and they can just wait for it to rise again. However, when the price does rise, they don't want to sell, and then it drops again, eventually going to zero.
They fall into a self-deceptive cycle of "wait for a rebound after a 10% drop → delete the app after an 80% drop" during a crash;
Compared to contract traders who are quick to cut losses, spot traders often have a lower awareness and perception of project risks.
The real risk is not the volatility but the ignorance and neglect of risks.
In the end, I am a fool, and I still invest in ETH every day.
