I used to trade in the cryptocurrency market against the trend, shorting when the market was rising and going long when it was falling. While it was thrilling, the risks were extremely high, and a single mistake could lead to significant losses. Recently, I've tried trend-following trading, buying small long positions when there is a rebound during a downturn. I've experienced how simple it is to open positions in the direction of the trend, how easy it is to hold them, and the returns have been decent. Below are my thoughts on trend-following trading:

1. Set the cryptocurrencies I am interested in as favorites, paying attention to their differences from the overall market trend to quickly identify strong and weak coins for potential longs or shorts.

2. Assess the overall market trend, using leading assets like ETH or BTC as reference points when the market is rising, and lagging assets when it is falling, as the overall market trend has a significant impact on the market.

3. Use different levels of candlestick charts to determine the current stage of the market and its subsequent time-space cycle position. This requires long-term attention to the market to develop a sense of market dynamics. This step supplements my judgment of the overall market direction and can guide my entry and exit decisions.

4. Choose altcoins that have performed better than the overall market during the same phase to trade. When the market is strong, go long on stronger altcoins; when it is weak, short weaker ones. Since ETH and BTC have less volatility, using 10x leverage on altcoins with small capital makes it easier to capture market fluctuations.

5. Close positions when there is a change in the overall market or the chosen coin. Common reasons for closing positions include losses reaching a certain threshold, hitting resistance or support levels, or taking profits by cashing out half of the unrealized gains. Before closing, re-evaluate the overall market trend; if the cycle is still progressing in the predetermined direction, poorly performing positions can be held longer.
