When is the best time to buy cryptocurrencies?
There is no right or wrong strategy when it comes to timing. In traditional investment, experts advise against trying to time the market due to its unpredictability. Instead, the general advice is to take a long-term approach.
The same strategy should be applied to cryptocurrencies, especially those with unique and innovative use cases. This is because long-term holders can "ride out" short-term volatility over time.
For example, Bitcoin dropped from around $68,000 in 2021 to $16,000 the following year.
Looking back, Bitcoin fell from a peak of $20,000 in 2017 to about $4,000 in 2018.
Since then, Bitcoin has reached all-time highs of over $107,000.
However, some crypto analysts think differently. For instance, some suggest increasing investment stakes when prices drop. This strategy is known as "buying the dip." A simple example is Pepecoin.
After its launch on December 10, 2025, Pepecoin rose by about 400%. It then entered a market correction, which is common with all cryptocurrencies that explode. Those buying Pepecoin today will pay 77% less than its recent all-time high.
