According to the Financial Times, citing a European executive from Toyota, the company does not rule out using the "export potential" of its UK factory to export a small number of cars to the US in response to the supply chain challenges posed by Trump's tariff policies. Toyota's European Chief Operating Officer, Matt Harrison, stated, "If the business equation makes sense, and the products we produce are needed in another region... we will certainly look into (our assets)." Harrison warned that, as the automotive industry prepares to deal with a series of tariffs threatened by the US President on its major trading partners, there will be more "political whirlwinds" in the future.
