Elon Musk’s Harsh Words to Poland’s Foreign Minister
Elon Musk recently told Poland’s Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, "Be quiet, small man."
If this is how Musk speaks to high-ranking officials, imagine how he sees the rest of us…
Pride comes before the fall.
I was thinking about buying a Tesla Model S Plaid, but I’ve changed my mind. As a "small person," I feel unworthy of Elon’s attention…
UPDATE: What Happened?
Musk’s rude comment came after Sikorski made this statement:
"The ethics of threatening the victim of aggression apart, if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable provider, we will be forced to look for other suppliers."
Why Did Sikorski Say This?
A European company, Eutelsat, is ready to replace Starlink in providing internet to Ukraine. This challenges Musk’s claim that Starlink is irreplaceable—which could hurt his business.
The military use of Starlink is a big money-maker for Musk. If Starlink looks unreliable, it could cost him future defense contracts.
Also, cutting internet service during a war raises serious concerns. Could Musk be using connectivity as a political tool?
Musk’s Recent Problems
Lost Starlink contracts in Canada, Mexico, Italy, and Spain
Tesla stock down nearly 38% this year
Starship rocket explosion over the Bahamas
Maybe that’s why he’s feeling stressed…
EDIT: Correction
I made a mistake—Sikorski is currently the Foreign Minister, not the Defense Minister. He was Defense Minister in a previous government.
I’ve tried to fix this error several times since yesterday, but I haven’t been able to update it.
