The US stock market has likely peaked. I started shorting around 4800 on the S&P, gradually cutting positions and continued shorting until around 6100. I've gone back and forth many times at this peak and finally lost confidence. Currently, I only have a short position on the Dow, which is really frustrating; I picked the one that has dropped the least.
The cryptocurrency market is clearly following the US stock market's lead. Bitcoin's drop tonight is less than expected; I placed a sell order at 75000 that hasn’t been filled yet, still hanging on. If it does get filled, I feel it will drop to seventy thousand. Extreme market conditions present opportunities, but it's also the time of greatest risk.
As I mentioned previously, buying options during a spike is more suitable, especially for friends with smaller accounts and excessive leverage. I bought a little Bitcoin and Ethereum options, but unfortunately, Bitcoin didn't drop much and hasn't met expectations.
I didn’t get into the contract; Bitcoin didn’t drop enough, and Ethereum didn’t drop enough either. Ethereum is currently just a pile of trash in my mind; I’ll wait for it to hit 1600 before buying a little to slowly bring down my entry price. Once I break even, I’m done with it.
