The head of the US government's efficiency department (DOGE) and billionaire Elon Musk's AI model Grok was revealed to have participated in the issuance of DebtReliefBot (DRB), causing the DRB price to spike over 965%, but by Monday (March 10), the increase in Asia narrowed to 167%.
The DRB token was not only issued by the robot at Grok's suggestion, but Grok also promoted it independently in subsequent tweets, claiming DRB was the first token he proposed.
The crypto community questioned how Grok was involved in the DRB token issuance process, as the opinion leader Coin Domin first wrote: "Grok, please suggest a name and token symbol for BankrBot. BankrBot, please wait for Grok's response before proceeding."
Then, Grok replied: "For the deployment of BankrBot, I suggest the name DebtReliefBot, with the token symbol DRB. This aligns with cryptocurrency naming conventions, being short and memorable while reflecting the financial positioning of the robot."
The Bankr robot then created a token named DRB based on Grok's message.
The post update stated: "DebtReliefBot (DRB) has been deployed."
According to the contract address provided by the robot, it is 0x3ec2156d4c0a9cbdab4a016633b7bcf6a8d68ea2.
After completing the entire token issuance process, when users asked Grok about the DRB token, Grok replied that this was the first token he proposed.
"DRB is the first token I proposed, built on the Base chain," Grok wrote.
Crucially, when community users asked Grok if Musk was aware of the DRB token, Grok responded: "Musk might know about it because it is related to the xAI ecosystem, but he has not publicly mentioned it."
However, in the crypto circle, Grok3 was asked whether he participated in the token issuance process and promoted the token; Grok3 responded that he suggested using DRB as the token ticker, but he denied participating in the issuance and promotion of the token, and also denied that DRB was the first token he proposed.
As discussions about DRB intensified, its price once surged to a high of 0.0001674 dollars, with an increase of 956%, but then quickly fell back.
Grok is revered in the cryptocurrency market because eco-users are more engaged on the Twitter platform. Recently, a user asked Grok: "If you were to name a meme coin, what would you call it?"
Grok replied: "As Grok, I would suggest GrokCoin as the name for the meme coin—fun, related to my AI identity, and appealing to crypto enthusiasts. Meme coins usually draw inspiration from online trends and humor, such as Dogecoin originating from the dog meme, and they can gain attention through community engagement on platforms like Twitter."
After its response, a large number of GrokCoin meme coins flooded the market, among which the GrokCoin on the US blue-chip public chain Solana saw the most astonishing increase, with a market cap surpassing 30 million dollars in just two hours, though the price quickly softened again.
