Introduction
The concept of tokenizing time has resurfaced recently, with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) monetizing their availability. However, previous attempts have yet to gain traction. Instead of tokenizing time, I’ve always been more interested in optimizing reach—allowing people to connect meaningfully while minimizing spam.
Platforms like LinkedIn and X (Twitter) theoretically offer this, but their low barriers make them ineffective due to spam and noise. This proposal outlines a platform that ensures serious inquiries only by attaching a financial cost to reaching influential figures.
How It Works
A KOL (or any professional) connects their X or LinkedIn to the platform to verify their identity. They then set a fixed price for receiving messages (e.g., 1 BNB or 0.1 BNB).
Anyone can send a message by paying upfront.
If the KOL does not respond within 5 days, 50% of the payment is refunded to the sender.
If they do respond, they receive 50% more than the base price, incentivizing timely replies.
Rules & Safeguards
Message Length: Capped at 2000 characters (~2 pages).
No Attachments: No images, PDFs, or files to prevent spam or malware.
Contact Info: The sender can include contact details.
Off-Platform Communication: If the KOL prefers, they can reply with their contact info and move the conversation elsewhere. If the follow-up occurs outside the platform, the payout is reduced by 50%.
Monetization Model
The platform charges a 10% transaction fee.
The sender’s payment is held by the platform until a response or refund is triggered.
No new token needed—payments are made in BNB/BSC.
Why This Works
Filters spam: The cost barrier ensures only serious inquiries.
Incentivizes KOLs to respond: They earn 50% extra for engaging.
Flexible & scalable: KOLs can adjust pricing over time based on demand.
Use Cases
KOLs, influencers, and experts can monetize high-quality interactions.
Consultants and advisors can be paid for their insights.
Individuals and businesses can ensure their messages reach the right people.
Personal Commitment
I would personally use this platform. Any crypto I receive would be donated to charity, filtering for serious inquiries while allowing me to adjust my availability based on demand. If a conversation leads to a valuable opportunity, I might refund the payment or even offer a bounty (e.g., for security tips).
Next Steps
YZiLabs may invest in a working MVP using BNB/BSC as the primary payment system. Development should take a few days to a week, followed by a security audit. If successful, I’ll be the first user.
While X, LinkedIn, or Square could build this, large companies move slowly. A dedicated platform could move faster and establish itself before they catch up.
