President Donald Trump hosted the first Digital Asset Summit at the White House with crypto moguls and members of his administration. Trump reiterated his pledge to establish a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve and not sell any American Bitcoin. "Starting today, America will follow the rule every Bitcoiner knows: never sell your Bitcoin," he said with a smile.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick have been tasked with finding a way to add Bitcoin without any new costs to taxpayers. While there is a "digital asset vault" for altcoins, the government will not be buying any more of it.
Crypto executives have praised Trump's friendly approach to the digital asset industry. Chainlink's Sergey Narzarov said, "I'm very happy to see this. This is how the US maintains its role in the global financial system."
