#BitcoinPolicyShift

The United States has recently established a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile through an executive order signed by President Donald Trump. Key aspects of these new policies include:

Strategic Bitcoin Reserve: This reserve will hold bitcoin seized in criminal or civil proceedings, currently estimated at around 200,000 coins. The U.S. will not sell these bitcoins, treating them as a store of value akin to "digital gold".

U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile: This stockpile will contain other digital assets seized through similar means. Unlike the Bitcoin Reserve, assets from this stockpile may be sold under certain conditions.

Acquisition Strategy: The Treasury and Commerce Departments are authorized to develop budget-neutral strategies for acquiring additional bitcoin without imposing costs on taxpayers.
